The following text is for question 3 to 5

Bruno Mars – Count on me

If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea,
I'll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see,
I'll be the light to guide you

Find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like one two three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like four three two
You'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah

Whoa, whoa
Oh, oh
Yeah, yeah

If you tossin' and you're turnin' and you just can't fall asleep
I'll sing a song
Beside you
And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me
Every day I will
Remind you

Ooh
Find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need

You can count on me like one two three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like four three two
You'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah

Oh, oh
Yeah, yeah

You'll always have my shoulder when you cry
I'll never let go
Never say goodbye
You know you can

Count on me like one two three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like four three two
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh yeah

Oh, oh
You can count on me 'cause I can count on you

Most people agree that some form of family limitation or spacing is desirable for the good of the family and society. But individuals and groups– especially religious groups–differ sharply on the methods of birth control that they consider moral and acceptable.

Couples that practice birth control do so for various reasons. They may want to limit or space their children, or to have no children at all. Young couples often postpone having children so that both partners can work full-time. Other couples space their children so they can give each child as much attention as possible. Some women are advised by their doctors to avoid pregnancy for health reasons. In many countries with rapidly growing populations, the government encourages couples to limit the size of their families.

Even though birth control has gained in acceptance, opposition to the practice is continuous. Some people fear that birth control encourages sexual relations outside marriage or that government might impose birth control. Some religious groups oppose birth control on moral grounds.

Some religious groups teach that artificial methods of birth control are immoral because they separate the two purposes of intercourse in marriage–conjugal love and the procreation of children. Although they oppose all artificial birth control, they consider natural family planning acceptable.

Jan Koum is an American internet enterpreneur and computer engineer. He is the CEO and co-founder with Brian Acton of Whatsapp, a mobile messaging application which was acquired by Facebook Inc. in February 2014 for US $ 19 Billion.

Koum was born in Kylv, Ukraine on February 24, 1976. He is a Jewish. He grew up in Fativ, outside Kylv, and moved with his mother and grandmother to Mountain View, California in 1992, where a social support program helped the family to get a small two- bedroom apartment, at the age of 16. His father had intended to join the family later, but finally remained in Ukraine. At first Koum’s mother worked as a babysitter, while he himself worked as a cleaner at a grocery. By the age of 18, he became interested in programming. He enrolled at San Jose State University and simultaneously worked at Ernst and Young as security tester.

In 1997, Jan Koum was hired by Yahoo as an infrastructure engineer, shortly after he met Brian Acton while working at Ernst & Young as a security tester. Over the next nine years, they worked at Yahoo. In September 2007 Koum and Acton left Yahoo and took a year off, traveling around South America and playing ultimate frisbee. Both applied and failed to work at Facebook.  In January 2009, he bought an iPhone and realized that the then-seven-month-old App Store was about to spawn a whole new industry of apps. He visited his friend Alex Fishman and the two talked for hours about Koum’s idea for an app over tea at Fishman’s kitchen counter. Koum almost immediately chose the name WhatsApp because it sounded like “ what’s up “, and a week later on his birthday, Feb 24, 2009, he incorporated WhatsApp Inc. in California.

WhatsApp became popular in just a small amount of time, and this caught Facebook’s attention Facebook’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg first contacted Koum in the spring 2012. The two began meeting at a coffee shop in Los Altos, California, then began a series of dinners and walked the hills above Silicon Valley.

On February 9, Zuckerberg asked Koum to have dinner at his home, and formally proposed Koum a deal to join the Facebook board.

His mother died in 2000 of cancer in the United States, while his father died in Ukraine in1997.

In 2014, he entered the Forbest list of the 400 richest Americans at position 62, with an estimated worth of more than seven and half billion dollars. He was the highest-ranked newcomer to the list that year.

Gie is a film adapted from a book entitled Catatan Seorang Demonstran (Notes of
a Demonstrator), a collection of journal entries by Soe Hok Gie. The film tells the life story of the famous young, Indonesian-Chinese activist named Gie.

The movie starts from Gie’s teenage life during high school. Some scenes show the critical nature of Gie and the fact that he always expresses his opinion since he was young. Also, several scenes show his interest in languages and books. He spends his free time by reading, or writing articles and he always writes in his journal every day. His critical behavior reaches a peak when he enters University of Indonesia, Faculty of Letters, majoring in History. There is revolution at that time. Gie then decides to establish a new organization with his friends named “MAPALA”. Gie also writes articles about Indonesia’s government for several newspapers, such as Kompas and Sinar Harapan.

The film not only tells Gie’s life as an activist. There are also several scenes focused on Gie’s private life, with the role of fictional characters intended to dramatize the story. All of them can be played by Nicholas Saputra as the main character.

The film’s duration prevented director Riri Riza from being able to deliver a complete picture of Gie. Some parts seem unclear, such as Gie’s father’s silent and reclusive characteristics. Gie himself doesn’t seem as outspoken as we would expect from a young activist.

Overall, this movie is about Soe Hok Gie’s path of life. This is a good movie for anyone who wants to know more, or recall the figure of Soe Hok Gie-a young famous activist in the 60’s.
