 NARRATIVE

By Faradiba

A wise king reigned for years, vanquished any and every evil threatening his people's livelihood. The king was old, but not senile, dedicated to his job but not so much to his family. Time went by and the king couldn't help but to be worn down.

Once upon a night, the king's queen consort gave birth to a healthy boy. Mjorir.

The kingdom of old, in the hand of a jester.

Mjorir grew to be a conceited person and unfit to that of his title, The First Prince. Dignity was thrown away as he threw himself into a spiraling behavior.

The beautiful kingdom, the kingdom of old where the wise king reigned for so many years and was regarded as a deity.

This disastrous mess of a First Prince decided he wanted to see the world. How hard could it be? A walk in a Royal Garden?

An uncharted place, the Kingdom of old was rich in such place for the thirsty ones, but how would the First Prince ever know?

Thighs deep into the bluish murky water, the First Prince flailed and wailed for he had lost his guide and horse. Rations and dogs placed in the back of his mind, he wade through the river, only to be sent to face the blue shades of oranges sky. He stood and wade furiously.

It was beautiful dawn and sunset, a view so regal that anyone would feel blessed to be alive.

Such a hilarious sight for any beholder, but these beholders mourned instead of laughed. 2 men and a donkey, far too much equipment, they have explored the uncharted, reveled in its raw beauty. Such men were the friends of the wise king who loved to wander too far from security and taste the seducing vast land.

Beauty be the eyes of the Monarch, for they were glittered by enlightenment and the earnest eagerness to learn.

The 2 men and a donkey stood and watched as the First Prince uselessly paddled the calm yet pulling stream. Hilarious, indeed, but still the sun shone on the stream with its brilliance, shimmering from its warmth. The moss, crawling up to the aged stone bridge and its surrounding abandoned houses of rocks and woods, gleamed.

Praise be for the worthy ones, why would thy, whims ever to cry for the not?

It was told in the scroll, predicted by the out of the world, sung by the bards, and told as stories by the parents. Doll of the old, the bane of the Kingdom of old. There was he, the damned bringer.

Pearly white teeth flew out, and the child bled red, yet, no tears dropped.

They knew what was to come and how idiotic the First Prince was. A conceited bastard of a First Prince, he needed to be killed for the Kingdom to flourish in the years to come. 2 pairs of eyes sparked determine, but there was a brief glint of consideration. Or was it the sun that illuminated their weapons?

The damned son, condemned for death, struggled to find a better him, but the sun was nowhere to find.

What is Fairy Tales?

A fairy tale is a story, often intended for children, that features fanciful and wondrous characters such as elves, goblins, wizards, and even, but not necessarily, fairies. The term “fairy” tale seems to refer more to the fantastic and magical setting or magical influences within a story, rather than the presence of the character of a fairy within that story. Fairy tales are often traditional; many were passed down from storyteller to storyteller before being recorded in books.

There are no rules that define fairy tales. Therefore, they are categorized by their elements, types, or motifs.
Here are some of those types and examples of stories that fit those types:

Supernatural Adversaries: Hansel and Gretel, Red Riding Hood
Supernatural or Enchanted Relatives: Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast
Supernatural Helpers: Cinderella, Puss In Boots
Magic Objects: The Magic Ring, Aladdin
Supernatural Power or Knowledge: The White Snake, Ali Baba
Religious Tales: The Three Green Twigs, The Flower of Lily-Lo
Realistic Tales: The Falsely Accused Wife, Ariadne
Tales of Fate: The Robber Bridegroom, Oedipus (Aarne-Thompson)

Fairy tales are important because they spark the imagination. They give us an outlet for experiencing things in our minds before we experience them in the real world. It is where the troubles of the real world can meet the supernatural and mix things up. In a fairy tale anything can happen and any kind of creature can exist, and when anything can happen, we can find solutions to things in our real lives. Through imagination, we learn about our world. We can explore outcomes and possibilities.

Fairy Tales elements:

1. Setting: The time and place of the story.
2. Characters: The people or creatures in the story.
3. Plot: The sequence of events in the story.
4. Conflict: The problem or challenge characters face.
5. Resolution: How the conflict is resolved.
6. Moral or Lesson: The message the story teaches.
7. Magic: Often includes magical elements or creatures.
8. Fantasy: Unrealistic elements and imaginary worlds.

Concepts :

Fairy Tale: A type of folk tale featuring magical and fantastic elements, typically involving a far-fetched sequence of events. It usually features folkloric characters such as elves, goblins, witches, giants, and talking animals.

Mythology: A collection of stories originating in oral tradition that are concerned with the origin of the world, the creation of the universe, the explanation of natural phenomena, and the roles of humans in the world.

Folklore: A body of expressive culture shared by a particular group of people; it encompasses the traditions common to that culture, subculture, or group, including literature, art, music, rituals, and customary events and beliefs.
