English Language Teaching Seminar by RELO Januari 2025

 



On Thursday, January 30, 2025, an English Language Teaching Seminar was held by the Regional English Language Office (RELO), an educational organization under the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta. This event was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Culture. The seminar gathered more than 150 teachers from the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek), along with four invited teachers from Bandung and another four educators from Timor Leste, who were specially invited by the RELO committee.



The seminar was structured into various thematic sessions, allowing participants to join moving classes based on their interests. These themes covered innovative teaching strategies, language acquisition methodologies, and the integration of technology in English language teaching. Each session was led by experienced educators and language experts, providing valuable insights and best practices for classroom application.

Teachers from different educational levels, including MTS, MA, SMP, SMA, and SMK, actively engaged in the learning process. The atmosphere was lively and interactive, with participants enthusiastically sharing their experiences and challenges in teaching English. Group discussions, workshops, and hands-on activities helped foster collaboration among teachers from diverse backgrounds.


Throughout the day, the seminar maintained a dynamic and engaging environment. Teachers were encouraged to participate in role-playing exercises, case studies, and problem-solving tasks to better understand effective teaching techniques. The presence of international educators added a global perspective, enriching the discussion with diverse approaches to language education.

By the end of the seminar, participants gained numerous insights that could be applied in their respective schools. Many teachers expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to learn from experts and network with fellow educators. The event not only enhanced their teaching skills but also strengthened the spirit of collaboration in the field of English language education.
